UBS says it has lured a financial advisor team from BNY Mellon Wealth Management in San Francisco.

Lauren Kinch and Andrew Baumgartner are joining UBS and partnering with UBS advisors Chris Clifford and Kate Kennedy to form Labyrinth Wealth Advisors, according to UBS.

The 12-person team, which includes lawyers, certified public accountants and a certified financial planner, caters to ultra-high-net-worth clients in Silicon Valley and the broader Bay Area, UBS says. They offer advice with investment management, tax optimization, estate planning, wealth transfer and family legacy, according to the firm.

“Lauren and Andrew are valuable additions to our team as we continue to focus on Bay Area founders, early employees, and executives,” Todd Locicero, West Coast market head at UBS Private Wealth Management, said in the announcement.

Kinch joined BNY Mellon in 2015 as an associate and since January 2021 has been serving as vice president and senior client strategist, according to her LinkedIn profile.

Baumgartner joined the financial services industry in 2010, registering with Wells Fargo, and moved to BNY Mellon in 2018, according to his BrokerCheck profile.

In addition to advising clients at BNY Mellon, the pair also helped build the company’s wealth management platform offering, UBS says.

UBS ended the first quarter of the year with 6,199 advisors, down from 6,335 at the end of March 2021.

The firm’s second-quarter earnings report is due out next week.
