Commonwealth Financial Network says a father-and-daughter-led advisory team with roughly $120 million in client assets has joined from RBC Wealth Management.
Frank Voli and Leigh Voli — who operate V & V Financial in Wilmington, North Carolina — have joined Commonwealth’s network of independent financial advisors.
The practice specializes in multigenerational planning, with an emphasis on retirement and estate planning, portfolio management, cashflow, tax strategies and charitable giving, according to Commonwealth.
Commonwealth’s nuanced technology offerings were part of its draw, according to the elder Voli, who notes that the industry is undergoing a “paradigm shift” and advisors must adapt.
“Clients have greater expectations and advisors need more targeted and relevant technologies, like advanced planning software, adaptive cashflow illustrations, risk analysis, and concise, accurate research and reporting," Frank Voli said in a statement.
"This move to Commonwealth allows us to further structure our business model to encompass the needs specific to our clients,” he added.
Commonwealth’s Brand Studio offering — a marketing platform that can help with website building, branding and client prospecting — also attracted the team, according to the younger Voli.
"Brand Studio enabled us to find our own unique voice and branding, which we take great pride in," Leigh Voli said in a statement. "And the technology provides us with a mobile environment, so at home or on the road, we’re confident that all our systems are optimized for how we work."
V & V Financial is one of the first firms to utilize Commonwealth’s virtual transition support offering, a client transfer service that the firm began beta testing earlier this year, according to a spokesperson.
The program gathers information from clients, opens accounts, completes transfer paperwork and facilitates getting client signatures, according to Commonwealth. The firm did not specify when the program was officially rolled out.
"Our team of specialists understands the complexities and time commitment of this process and, through our unique hands-on approach, facilitated the onboarding of more than 120 client households,” Nancy DiBattista, senior vice president of transition and field development operations at Commonwealth, said in a statement.
Leigh Voli said it made a big difference for their move.
"Our dedicated transition team absolutely prepared us for this process — and guided us at a manageable pace,” she said.
Frank Voli was previously with RBC Wealth for 12 years starting in 2009, and before that he was at Citigroup for a decade, according to BrokerCheck. He got his start in the industry at Shearson Lehman Hutton in 1990, BrokerCheck shows.
Leigh Voli started in the industry in August of this year, when she joined her father at RBC Wealth, according to her BrokerCheck record.
