Sanctuary Wealth says it has added another team of former Merrill Lynch financial advisors to its network of independent partner firms.

The latest addition is Moorestown, New Jersey-based Ausperity Private Wealth, led by founder and senior managing partner Robert O'Hara, according to Sanctuary.

All of the members of O’Hara’s team, previously known as The O'Hara Group at Merrill Lynch Wealth Management, are under 40 years old, while collectively, they manage $500 million, Sanctuary says.

O’Hara joined the financial services industry in 2005 and had stints at Ameriprise Financial and Morgan Stanley before joining Merrill in 2007, according to BrokerCheck.

Ausperity managing partner Shane Fox, meanwhile, began his career in the industry with Merrill, in 2011, while managing partner Geoff Degener has been with The O’Hara Group since 2013, Sanctuary says.

Senior relationship manager Jennifer Fisher joined the group in 2016, according to Sanctuary.

"We knew that in going independent, it would be much better for our clients if we did it with a partner. We conducted about two years of due diligence before we decided that Sanctuary is the best fit for our team," O’Hara said in a statement.

Earlier this summer, Sanctuary helped a team of Merrill advisors overseeing $1.22 billion go independent. Teams of Merrill advisors also broke away with Sanctuary in April and March.

Sanctuary’s network has also lured advisors from Wells Fargo, Ameriprise, UBS and Morgan Stanley.

Sanctuary Wealth says it now has partner firms across 20 states with more than $17 billion in assets under advisement.
