Financial Strategies Group, a full-service general insurance agency, has poached five estate planning and life insurance specialists from Wells Fargo Advisors, FSG says.

Chuck Adam, Erik Copeland, Doug Dunne, Jorge Fuentes and Rick Stein have formed the distribution company Meritage and teamed up with FSG’s back office, according to a press release from FSG.

Founded in 2008, FSG specializes in wealth transfer, business succession, long-term care and supplemental retirement income planning, offering a point of sale to financial advisors, the company says.

Adam had been with Wells Fargo since 2013, according to BrokerCheck. Stein had joined Wells Fargo Advisors in 2014 and worked “with Wealth Advisors to provide their clients with wealth transfer expertise and planning strategies,” according to his LinkedIn profile.

Copeland had been with Wells Fargo since 2014 as well, while Dunne since 2016 and Fuentes since 2000, according to LinkedIn.

"This GA has the experience and knowledge to work with major banks and wirehouses. As a former Wells Fargo insurance specialist, this is very important as we continue to work with private banks and financial advisors," Fuentes says in the press release.

The move “adds millions of dollars of targeted premium to FSG” and “triples its size,” the company says.
