Merrill Lynch Appoints New Head of Texas Mountain South

March 19, 2019

Wirehouse Merrill Lynch has promoted a veteran employee to oversee thousands of financial advisors in its Texas Mountain South division, according to news reports.

Carole Wentz, previously the market executive for Merrill Lynch’s Greater Orange County, Calif., region, will now oversee more than 3,300 financial advisors working across 103 Merrill Lynch Wealth Management offices in Arizona, Colorado, Missouri, New Mexico, Oklahoma and Texas, according to WealthManagement.com.

She is one of six division executives who report directly to Andy Sieg, the head of Merrill Lynch Wealth Management, and communicate with him almost daily, a person familiar with the role tells the web publication.

Wentz has been with Merrill Lynch for 24 years and is replacing Vince Fertitta, a 22-year veteran of the wirehouse who stepped down last month to look for other opportunities within the firm, a person familiar with the move tells WealthManagement.com.

Merrill Lynch has recently experienced some departures from the lower rungs of its executive ladder.

Earlier the month, the wirehouse lost two experienced managing directors to Deutsche Bank Wealth Management and Rockefeller Capital Management.
