Morgan Stanley Taps New Investment Resources Boss
Morgan Stanley has appointed Lisa Shalett to succeed Mike Wilson as head of wealth management investment resources, WealthManagement.com writes.
Shalett, who’s been with Morgan Stanley since 2013, will also remain at the helm of the wealth unit’s investment and portfolio strategies, according to an internal memo seen by the web publication. In addition, she sits on Morgan Stanley’s Global Investment and the Investment Products and Services Executive committees, WealthManagement.com writes. Prior to her Morgan Stanley career, Shalett oversaw due diligence, asset allocation and portfolio analytics at Merrill Lynch’s global wealth management division. While there, she also had a hand building investment plans with both advisors and clients, WealthManagement.com writes. A spokesperson for Morgan Stanley confirmed the contents of the memo but Shalett didn’t respond to the web publication’s request for comment.
Wilson steps down from his post due to previously expanded responsibilities as a result of a reshuffle at Morgan Stanley last month, according to the web publication.
In addition to his role as chief investment officer for institutional securities, he had been promoted last month to Morgan Stanley’s chief U.S. equity strategist, Reuters wrote at the time.
Wilson had taken over from Adam Parker, who left Morgan Stanley for a hedge fund, according to the newswire.
