Ameriprise Financial has snapped up eight advisors from several rivals, including Wells Fargo Advisors and UBS, according to a press release from Ameriprise.

In total, the advisors managed $644 million in combined client assets, according to the firm. Thomas Dattilo joins Ameriprise’s employee channel from UBS, where he managed $147 million in client assets. Dattilo says in the press release that he left UBS for a “more flexible and open” platform. Also joining the employee channel is Mark Stegmann, who previously managed $91 million in client assets at Wells Fargo Advisors, according to the press release.

Ameriprise has also added Gartenhaus Financial to its independent channel, the company says. Howard Gartenhaus, Matthew Zukergood, Howard Perlroth and Bryan Beamer previously managed $168 million at Kestra Investment Services, according to the press release. Gartenhaus says in the press release that the team joined Ameriprise in large part due to its focus on financial planning.

In addition, two advisors have joined Ameriprise’s franchise channel, according to the firm. Dorne Hall comes over from MSI Financial Services, where he oversaw $160 million in client assets. Phillip Johnson joins Ameriprise from Woodbury Financial Services, where he managed $78 million in assets, according to the press release.
